Went to buy tickets for my local theatre’s semiannual showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show only to find they’d sold out even earlier than usual. I assume the run on tickets was a response to Tim Curry’s death this past summer. Which is sweet, I guess, but very annoying for me personally.
New Novelette: “The Safecrackers’ Take”

When the young Beddington twins rob a tanning salon in east London, the last thing they expect to find there is ₤500,000 in illicit cash. Desperate to return the money before someone comes looking for it, they enlist the help of Jay Moriarty and his partner, Sebastian Moran.
The good news: Moriarty has figured out who the money belongs to. The bad news: it belongs to a pair of corrupt police officers. And they don’t just want the money back — they want the Beddingtons, and anyone else who came in contact with them, silenced.
“The Safecrackers’ Take” is the twelfth story in my series The Casefile of Jay Moriarty, a modern-day queer take on the iconic Sherlock Holmes villain, his partner Sebastian Moran, and the various crimes they commit together.
I’m a sucker for the kind of crime story where the criminals realize they’ve succeeded too well, and immediately recognize that as a problem. Plus, it’s fun when hypercompetent characters have to deal with unruly teenagers.
